Coco Mittai - Peanut sugar Candy

Coco mittai is one of my all time favorite snack item 😍. Whenever I see them in Indian stores used to grab it immediately !However past few months I couldn't find it in any store in Singapore 😑. One day I got curious and browsed the recipe and got astonished to see how simple it was!! Can be prepared in a jiffy especially if you have ground nuts without skin. Here goes the recipe.

Coco Mittai

Cuisine: Indian
Category: Sweet/snack
Difficulty level: Easy
Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook time: 5 mins
Servings: 20 pieces

Ingredients

Ground nut
1/2 Cup heaped
Sugar
1/2 cup flat

Preparation

     1.      Sauté the ground nut in medium flame for few minutes till the skin starts coming   out. Cool it , remove skin and grind to coarse powder.

Method

      1.     Grease a plate and knife with ghee and keep it ready.
     2.   Add sugar to the pan and heat it in medium flame without adding water.

     3.      After few minutes the sugar will start melting.

    4.   Once sugar melts down completely , switch off the flame  and add the ground nut    powder.

    5.     Mix quickly and transfer to the greased plate immediately. After a minute cut them into squares. If delayed the chikki becomes hard and we can't cut.

     6.      Store in airtight container and enjoy :).

Notes

  • If you don't like much sweet add ground nut and sugar in ratio 4:3.
  • Be quick in transfering the paste and cutting squares.
